3A card game, formerly “lanterloo” from the French “lantarlu”; three cards are dealt to each player, the next card is exposed to decide trumps; one third of the pot goes to the winner of each trick. Thus a more straightforward game than “Nap” which reached England in the 1890s. In Nap, players are dealt five cards and bid to predict how many tricks they will make - two tricks, three tricks, misère (lose every trick), four tricks, nap (five tricks), Wellington (five tricks for doubled stakes), and Blücher (five tricks for redoubled stakes)
